Healing Addiction in our Community (HAC) is a non-profit 501c3 dedicated to providing education and awareness surrounding the substance abuse issues affecting NM. HAC was formed in April, 2010 by a group of parents and grandparents concerned about the rising use of heroin and painkillers among Albuquerque teens. Many of our members have been affected by the devastating effects that addiction has had on our families and our youth, and we decided to take action and do something about it. We provide education to parents, teens, educators, coaches social workers, probation and parole, judges, legislatures, and health care professionals, about the drug problem plaguing our community. We do this by holding seminars and building relationships with people and other organizations who share our same goals.
HAC has dedicated thousands of hours conducting educational workshops for students, parents, educators, doctors, dentists, probation officers, and social workers throughout NM on the devastation and collateral consequences imposed on children and families by heroin and other drugs. HAC has also focused attention on the severe lack of services in our communities for children and young adults suffering from opiate addiction. We saw the critical need to invest in and establish an Adolescent Recovery & Transitional Living Center in this community.
WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THAT!
